Analysis and Evaluation of the Impact of Dingri Airport Construction Project on Biodiversity in the National Nature Reserve of Mount Qomolangma in Tibet
To scientifically assess the impact of the Dingri Airport Construction Project on the biodiversity of the Mount Qomolangma National Nature Reserve in Tibet, this study conducted surveys and evaluations in the project impact area from the perspectives of landscape/ecosystem,biological communities,populations/species,main conservation targets, biological safety, and social factors, according to relevant technical specifications. The analysis evaluates the extent of the project's impact on the biodiversity of the reserve, aiming to provide a scientific basis for the management of the reserve and decision-making for project construction, and to effectively mitigate the adverse effects on the ecological environment of the reserve caused by the project construction. The results show that there are 28 species of vascular plants belonging to 25 genera and 14 families, and 58 species of terrestrial wild vertebrates belonging to 4 classes,14 orders, and 24 families in the evaluation area. The Biodiversity Impact Index(BI)of the airport construction project on the Mount Qomolangma Reserve is 51.72,which is considered to have a moderate-low impact.
