Distribution and Conservation Status of Rare and Endangered Plant Resources in Inner Mongolia
The Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region is rich in rare and endangered plant resources. This article introduces the concept and classification of rare and endangered plants, summarizes and generalizes relevant research findings, and outlines the composition, geographical distribution, and use classification of rare and endangered wild plants in Inner Mongolia.Based on this, the conservation status of rare and endangered wild plants is analyzed, and corresponding protection suggestions are proposed to provide a scientific basis for strengthening biodiversity conservation. The results show that there are 127 species of rare and endangered plants in 53 families and 103 genera in Inner Mongolia, with the largest number of angiosperms, including 117 species in 49 families and 97 genera, accounting for 92.12%of the total number of rare and endangered plant species.Geographically, the northern Xing'an state,Yinshan state, eastern Alashan state,Helan Mountain state,Yanbei state, and southern Xing'an state have relatively more species of rare and endangered plants. In terms of use, fodder plants, greening and ornamental plants, and environmental improvement plants have relatively more species, with 65,59,and 35 species respectively. The ecological protection red line area for rare and endangered plants is 506 800 hectares, accounting for 42.84%of the total land area of Inner Mongolia.Currently,81 species of rare and endangered plants are distributed in protected areas of different levels, accounting for 63.78%of the total number of red line protected plants.
