Observation of Phenological Periods and Plant Morphology of Crataegus sanguinea in Daqing Mountain in Inner Mongolia
The Budong Management Station of Daqing Mountain National Nature Reserve is located at the easternmost part of the reserve,where Crataegus sanguinea is distributed and has high ornamental value.To accurately grasp the phenological periods of Crataegus sanguinea in the Daqing Mountain area and promote its large-scale planting,five naturally growing Crataegus sanguinea trees on the upper slope of Bolokuji Mountain were selected for continuous observation of their phenological periods and plant morphology from 2019 to 2023.The natural regeneration was also investigated to provide a scientific basis for accurately predicting the seed collection period,determining the afforestation time,and formulating cultivation management measures in the Daqing Mountain area.The results show that:(1)The naturally regenerated seedlings of Crataegus sanguinea under and around the canopy of the observed trees grow normally.(2)The bud burst period of Crataegus sanguinea is from April 20 to May 22;the leaf expansion period is from May 5 to 20;the flowering period is from May 17 to June 1;the fruit ripening period is from October 5 to November 5,which is the suitable period for seed collection;the leaf fall period is from October 10 to 18.The afforestation of Crataegus sanguinea seedlings should be completed before April 20.
