Study on Biomass Characteristics and Carbon Sequestration Capacity of Corethrodendron fruticosum Plantation in Mu Us Sandy Land
In order to consolidate and enhance the carbon sequestration capacity of sandy land ecosystem,Corethro-dendron fruticosum plantation in Mu Us Sandy Land was chosen as the research object, and the biomass and carbon density characteristics of vegetable layer, litter layer and soil layer of Corethrodendron fruticosum plantation with different forest ages were analyzed. The results showed that the aboveground biomass of Corethrodendron frutico-sum increased by1.76 times from 8 years old to 17 years old, while there was no significant difference between the biomass of herb layer and litter layer. The average carbon content of Corethrodendron fruticosum was 48.11%,the average carbon content of herb layer was 42.83%,and the carbon content of litter was 42.29%.With the increase of forest age,the carbon density of Corethrodendron fruticosum plantation increased significantly(P<0.05),the car-bon density of shrub layer increased by 175.00%,the one of herb layer increased by 6.89%,the one of litter layer in-creased by 15.12%,and the soil organic carbon increased by 16.69%.The research indicated that there were signifi-cant differences among the stand biomass with different ages. The study on the biomass and carbon density character-istics of vegetation under different environmental conditions and stand structures can provide a scientific basis for ac-curately estimating the carbon sequestration capacity of stands.
