Study on Biomass Distribution Characteristics and Carbon Metering Parameters of Populus Plantation in Hohhot
In this study,Populus plantation planted in the plain area of Hohhot was taken as the research object, the biomass distribution characteristics and carbon metering parameters of Populus plantation were studied, which was of great significance to improve the estimation accuracy of biomass and carbon storage of Populus plantation in this area.By setting standard sample plots in different growth stages(young forest,middle-aged forest,near-mature for-est,mature forest,over-mature forest),the biomass characteristics of different organs and stands of standard trees were studied and analyzed. The results showed that the biomass allocation of different organs of Populus showed a consistent trend, which was trunk>root>branch>bark>leaf. The biomass of different organs accounted for 51.65%,16.91%,14.15%,11.33%and 5.97%of the total biomass of Populus, respectively. The measured biomass conver-sion and expansion factor(BCEF)was 0.40 t.m-3,the biomass expansion factor(BEF)was 1.61,the root-to-stem ratio(R)was 0.20,and the wood basic density(WD)was 0.24 t.m-3.There was no difference in the biomass of different age classes calculated by the measured carbon measurement parameters and IPCC default values,indi-cating that the measured carbon measurement parameters and IPCC default values could accurately calculate the car-bon sequestration characteristics of Populus plantations in the plain area of Hohhot.
