Research Progress on the Application Technology of Sex Pheromones in Carposina sasakii in China
Carposina sasakii is an important fruit pest widely distributed in China, which infests the fruit, seriously affecting the yield and quality of the fruit and causing great economic losses to the fruit industry. In this paper, the occurrence and damage, identification and synthesis of sex pheromones, monitoring and trapping, and application techniques of mating disruption were reviewed. It occurred 1-2 generations in a year in most regions of China, and the larvae were mainly infested in the upper part of the tree crown. The primary constituents of the sex pheromone were(Z)-7-Eicosen-11-one and(Z)-7-Nonadecen-11-one,and the synthetic yield had been increased from 10%to 60%.It was advisable to utilize 150 per hm2 white armyworm plates along with boat-shaped traps suspended above the tree canopy for monitoring purposes, and 450-600 per hm2 sex pheromone for disrupting the mating were recom-mended for mating disruption. The existing problems in the production and application of sex pheromones were put forward to provide reference and basis for a comprehensive understanding of the research progress and innovative re-search directions of Carposina sasakii.
