A Study on the Impact of Undergraduate Satisfaction with Western Colleges and Universities on Academic Achievement
In order to clarify the impact and mechanism of undergraduate learning satisfaction on their academic achievement,a hypothetical model was constructed to investigate the relationship between learning satisfaction and undergraduate academic achieve-ment mediated by academic participation.A questionnaire survey was conducted on 4 696 undergraduate students from a university in western China. The results showed that the satisfaction, academic achievement, and academic participation of undergraduate stu-dents in the surveyed universities were comparable to the national norm, with no significant differences.Undergraduate satisfaction was significantly positively correlated with academic participation and achievement.Academic participation partially mediated the re-lationship between student satisfaction and academic achievement. This discovery indicates that colleges and universities should pay attention to the improvement of student satisfaction and academic participation when enhancing students'academic achievements,so as to form a virtuous cycle and improve the overall quality of education.
