INHIBITION MECHANISM OF ANTIFUNGAL COMPOUNDS FROM Asarum himalaicum AGAINST Alternaria solani
For looking for high antifungal activity components from Chinese herba medicine, the extracts of Asarum were purified by using silica gel column chromatography and three active fractions were obtained.Treated with three fractions in 96h, the growth inhibition ratio ofAlternaria solani were all more than 85%.L2, more purified fraction, was chosen to study the mechanism action. The results indicated that when treated with L2 in 12h, the hypha of Alternaria solani were malformation and the bifurcations of hypha were intumescence or constriction. The ends of hypha were expanded. The activity of chitinase and the content of N-acetyl glucosamine in treated group were all higher than control ones.At the same time, the permeability of cell membrane was increased and the content of ergosterin in cell was decreased which could prevent the establishments of cell membrane and cytoderm and then caused the death of thalli cells.
