Analysis of Differential Metabolites in Leaves of Four Salix Plants Based on LC-MS/MS Technology
This study aimed to investigate the differential metabolites in the leaves of Salix delavayana,Salix myrtillacea,Salix para-plesia,and Salix cheilophila. The Liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry(LC-MS/MS)technology was used to analyze the metabolites in the leaves of four species of Salix plants.Principal component analysis(PCA)and orthogonal partial least squares discriminant analysis(OPLS-DA)were used to identify differential metabolites, and KEGG analysis was conducted to determine the enriched pathways of these metabolites. The result showed that a total of 2 796 compounds belonging to 19 classes were detected in the leaves of four Salix plants, mainly including isoprene, flavonoids, benzene and its substituted derivatives, carboxylic acids and their derivatives, organic oxygen, and lipid compounds. There were 641,625,and 643 differential metabolites between Salix dela-vayana and Salix myrtillacea, and between Salix delavayana and Salix paraplesia, and between Salix delavayana and Salix cheiloph-ila,respectively.Additionally,592,593,and 626 differential metabolites were found between Salix myrtillaceae and Salix para-phylesia,and between Salix myrtillacea and Salix cheilophila, and between Salix paraplesia and Salix cheilophila. The differential metabolites were mainly flavonoids. The differential metabolites in the leaves of four Salix plants mainly enriched in pathways such as flavonoid and flavonol biosynthesis, flavonoid biosynthesis, and ABC transporter proteins. The findings provided a reference for the comprehensive utilization of these four species of Salix plant resources, and offered new insights into differential metabolite analy-sis among other Salix plants.
