The Ecological Nature and Function of Karl Marx's "Capital"
In Marx's Das Capital, capital is not only a historical, philosophical and economic category but also an ecological one. From the perspective of ecological science, capital in nature is not only the value that can bring about surplus value, and in the meantime, the use value bringing about surplus products. It is the dialectical unity of the two. Capital not only represents the economic relationship between man and man, but also the ecological relationship between man and nature. In the former relationship, the function of capital is to exploit and utilize labor~ in the later, its function is to exploit and utilize nature. In a long term, the nature and function of capital tends to be civilized.
