The Painted Wooden Coffins of the Northern Wei Dynasty Collected in Inner Mongolia Museum
The two painted wooden coffins collected in Inner Mongolia Museum have a long history,but still in bright color showing complete picture content.They are identified as coffins from the Northern Wei Dynasty based on the painting content.This paper studies the life and production style of Northern Wei Dynasty embodied in the painting and concludes that the two coffins were made after the assimilation reform into Han by Emperor Xiaowen of the Northern Wei Dynasty.
