Zhengtong Linronglu was written by Yang Ming,whose real name was Ha Ming,one of the Hui people in the Ming Dynasty.Sent as a diplomatic officer to Mongolia in the period of Zhengtong,he was detained by Wala Taishi at the time of"Battle of Tumubao".In the 14th year of Zhengtong(1449)when Emperor MingY-ingzong was captured in Mongolia,he accompanied him as an interpreter.After coming back to Ming Dynasty,Yang Ming wrote this book in vernacular form,tracing his life in the Mongolian camp.He was the witness of the negotiation and exchanges in the events before and after the"Battle of Tumubao",which is of great historical value to study the relations between Ming and Mongolia and the internal situation of Mongolia.
