Review of the Russian Modern Scientific Investigation on Mongolian Plateau
Being part of the Mongolian Plateau,the northern border areas of China and the Central Plains are inseparable in politics,economy and culture though with great differences in natural conditions.To foster a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation and a comprehensive understanding of China and Chinese society,it is necessary to recognize the importance of the northern border areas of China in the formation process of Chinese com-munity.Reviewing the study home and abroad since the late 19th century on the Russian investigation of Mongolian Plateau,this paper reveals the transformation path and shortcomings of the research paradigms at different stages and advocates the academic community to conduct more systematic and comprehensive study so as to provide impor-tant historical and strategic references for the"Belt and Road"initiative,the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor Construction,the"Tea Road",the"Grassland Silk Road"as well as the historical and geographical re-search on northern border of China.
