Study on engineering geological characteristics of surface rocks of typical grottoes in Ningxia
The engineering geological characteristics of typical grottoes in Ningxia were comprehensively studied through field geological survey and rock physical and mechanical test.The results show that the lithology of the grottoes is mainly feldspar sandstone,conglomerate,gypsum rock and mar-ble.The interstitial material is mainly composed of carbonate minerals,followed by clay,siderite,dolo-mite,etc.The cementation mode is mainly porous.The hardness and weathering strength of sand con-glomerate are ferric cementation＞calcareous cementation＞clay cementation.The degree of rock weath-ering is proportional to the porosity and natural water absorption,that is,the greater the porosity and nat-ural water absorption,the stronger the weathering degree.
