Excavation Report of Chujia South Cemetery in Linzi District,Zibo City,Shandong Province in 2018
In 2018,the Shandong Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology,in collaboration with the Linzi Cultural Relics Department,conducted an excavation of the Chujia South Cemetery and found that the tombs were mostly rectangular vertical pits.Most of the tombs were oriented north or east,and the tomb owner mainly buried with upright limbs,and many tombs contained one inner coffin,and common waist-pit and second-tier ledge.The funerary objects were mainly pottery,with a small number of bronzes.This article selects 11 typical tombs for introduction.According to the combination of the unearthed objects,the change of the type and the comparison with the cultural remains of the same period in neighboring areas,it is presumed that its date is about the Spring and Autumn Period.The excavation of Cemetery has added important evidence for the study of cultural remains,burial system of Qi state during the Spring and Autumn Period and the staging of Zhou Dynasty tombs in northern Shandong.
