Brief Report on the Indoor Archaeological Cleaning of the M27 of Liao Dynasty in Shuiquan Village,Liangcheng County,Inner Mongolia
The M27 of Shuiquan Cemetery in Liangcheng County was once packaged and displayed to the public due to the excavation of relatively complete burial items such as the Diexie Belt of Liao Dynasty and harness. The identification of human bones indicates that the tomb owner has obvious physical characteristics of ancient populations in the medieval Mongolian Plateau and southeastern of East Siberia, which are different from the Khitan people. However, the unearthed funerary items such as the Diexie Belt, harness, weapons are basically same with the similar objects of the Liao Dynasty. This discovery provides empirical evidence for studying the distribution of Liao Dynasty culture and the cultural exchanges between different groups during that period.Through this indoor archaeological cleaning work,we hope to publish the complete materials of the tomb.
