Some scholars believe that the bronze sword with inscription of"Er Zhu Gong Jian"collected from Tuchengzi Village,Helingeer County,Inner Mongolia was used by Prince Chong'er(Duke Wen of Jin)of the Jin State during the Spring and Autumn Period. This paper discusses the shape of the bronze sword inscribed with"Er Zhu Gong Jian",the spread of the swords with thick hand guard of the Wu-Yue System in the northern region, and the changes in the thick hand guard of this type of sword during the Warring-States Period. It is believed that the sword should be dated no earlier than the late Spring and Autumn Period, and is likely to be of the Warring States Period. This sword has nothing to do with Prince Chong'er(Duke Wen of Jin).
