Excavation Report of the Caitaopo Site in Songshan District,Chifeng City in 2022
The Caitaopo site is located on a gentle slope approximately 600 meters northwest of Hewusu Natural Village,Baimiaozi Village,Anqing Town,Songshan District,Chifeng City.In 2022,the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology and other institutions conducted proactive archaeological excavations on it,revealing an area of 567 square meters,cleaning 13 house sites,5 ash pits,and 2 stove sites while unearthing more than 90 relics.Based on the age determination results and relic characteristics analysis,it is preliminarily concluded that most of the relics excavated in 2022 date back to the middle period of the Hongshan Culture.The super large,large,and small house sites may have different functions or purposes from ordinary residential buildings.
