Archaeological Survey Report on the Surrounding Area of Yuanbaoshan Accumulate Stone Tombs in Aohan Banner,Chifeng City,Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region
In April 2024,the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology conducted a special investigation on the remains of the Hongshan Culture in the middle and lower reaches of the Jiaolaihe River.The investigation was centered on the Yuanbaoshan accumulate stone tombs in Aohan Banner,with a radius of 15 kilometers.A total of 6 sites were investigated this time,of which 4 sites are pure Hongshan Culture sites and 2 sites are composite cultural sites.One of the composite sites is a composite relic of Hongshan and Xinglongwa cultures,while the other includes relics of Hongshan and Zhaobaogou cultures.This survey helps to understand the distribution and preservation of the Hongshan Culture sites around the Yuanbaoshan accumulate stone tombs,especially providing supplementary materials for exploring the distribution trend,settlements and environment,sacrificial sites and settlements and environment of the Jiaolaihe River and West Liao River basin.These findings offer new perspectives on the socio-political complexity of the study of ancient Hongshan polity.
