Review on the Archaeological History of the Hongshan Culture in Hebei
100 years has been past since the foundation of the Hongshan Culture,and 70 years since the naming of the Hongshan Culture.Many archaeological programs of Hongshan Culture have been carried out by Inner Mongolia Autonomous region and Liaoning Province,a few has been carried out by Hebei Province including investigations and sporadic small-scale experimental excavations.It was not until 2020 that the long-term and planned active archaeology was carried out,and a series of important discoveries were made,which changed the long-term backward situation of Hongshan cultural archaeology in Hebei Province.Learning from the past,we should seize the favorable opportunity,rely on the initiative of archaeological projects,in-depth excavation,research and interpretation,complement the shortcomings of Hongshan cultural archaeology,jointly promote the archaeological research of Hongshan Culture,and contribute Hebei's strength to the demonstration of the history of Chinese civilization for more than 5,000 years.
