The Method and Practice of Special Investigation of the Hongshan Culture in Fuxin Area
Fuxin is located at the intersection of the hills of western Liaoning,Horqin Sandy Land and the Liaohe Plain,and is the key area for the study of eastward spread of the Hongshan Culture.From 2022 to 2024,in order to cooperate with the implementation of the"Archaeological China-Research on the Civilization Process of Hongshan Society"project,Liaoning Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology and the School of Archaeology and Museology,Liaoning University organized a special survey on Hongshan Culture in Fuxin area.By designing a full-coverage ground survey plan,combining general and regional systematic survey methods,and using the AutoNavi Map applet to support the survey,this archaeological field survey work has commendably solved the academic goals of discovering sites,confirming the number of sites,and clarifying the geographical location,distribution range,geomorphology and other information of sites,laying the foundation for the study of settlement archaeological and social complexity research of Hongshan Culture.
