Alzheimer's disease is a common degenerative disease of central nervous system,the main pathogenesis is synaptic dysfunction which leads to neuronal loss.However,memory impairment caused by synaptic plasticity can occur before the onset of AD,which provides the possibility of intervention before irreversible pathological damage in AD patients.Cyclic adenosine monophosphate effector binding protein(CREB)is located at the central convergence point of multiple activation pathways in the process of synaptic strengthening and memory formation,and it plays a key role in the maintenance of human learning and memory ability.By reviewing the literature on the correlation between CREB and learning and memory and the current status of Chinese medicine in the treatment of AD in recent years,this paper summarized the relevant pathways of CREB and learning and memory,the relevant experimental studies on its participation in the pathogenesis of AD,and the correlation between the prevention and treatment of AD and CREB protein by Chinese medicine.In order to provide some theoretical and experimental basis for Chinese medicine to improve memory loss and prevent AD by using CREB protein as the breakthrough point.
