As urbanization progresses,it has triggered global climate changes, leading to a rise in global temperatures and challenging urban thermal environments.Urban parks possess significant cooling benefits and are crucial in mitigating urban heat island effects.Cur-rent research on the cooling benefits of urban parks primarily focuses on absolute cooling benefits, with less consideration given to their relative cooling benefits. Therefore, from this perspective, using Landsat data to inverse the surface temperature of 40 urban parks within the third ring of Fuzhou City, this study evaluates the cooling benefits of parks through four indicators:cooling intensity, cooling area, cooling gradient, and cooling efficiency. It also explores the impact of park characteristics on cooling benefits, yielding the following con-clusions:1)The internal temperature of parks ranges between 31.33℃to 35.66℃,with internal temperature negatively correlated with area, fractional vegetation cover(FVC),and the proportion of ecological land use,and positively correlated with the proportion of devel-oped land.2)Urban parks have significant cooling benefits on their surrounding environments, with cooling intensities ranging from 0.54℃to 0.81℃,cooling areas from 9,808,316m²to 158,283.3m²,cooling gradients from 0.004 to 0.027,and cooling efficiencies from 1.68 to 259.07.3)The absolute cooling benefits of parks are influenced by factors such as area, perimeter, shape index,FVC,and the proportion of ecological land use, while relative cooling benefits are mainly affected by the proportion of land use, with a weaker cor-relation to park size.
