A parameter self-adaptation method for calculating incipient motion shear stress of cohesionless non-uniform sediment
The determination of the incipient motion condition is the key to studying the non-uniform sediment transport.the correction method and the equivalent particle size method have been widely applied in practical engineering. However, the parameter calibration contained in these two methods requires a known measured value of the incipient motion shear stress of grouped sediment, which depends on the calibration datasets.Based on the idea of equal incipient shear stress of grouped sediment calculated by the two methods in theory,Combining the Wu Weiming's correction method and Wang Tao's equivalent particle size method, the con-tained calibration parameters are used as self-adaption parameters, which can be determined through function fitting. The fitting process does not rely on the incipient motion shear stress value of grouped sediment.Practi-cal tests have shown that determining parameters through self-adaptation can improve the applicability and ac-curacy of the calculation method for sediment incipient motion shear stress, which provides a new idea for cal-culating the incipient motion conditions of non-uniform sediment.
