Breast cancer poses a serious threat to women's health owing to its high incidence, and thus finding drugs for its treatment is crucial. In order to provide a theoretical basis for further clinical application of silybin to the treatment of breast cancer, the study reviewed the mechanism of silybin on breast cancer cells. It shows that silybin can block the cycle of breast cancer cells and induce their autophagy and apoptosis so that the invasion and migration of such cells can be effectively inhibited through the mitochondria, and that it can regulate the tumor microenvironment in multiple ways to inhibit the tumor angiogenesis and prevent the cancer cells from proliferating and induce their apoptosis. In addition,it has strong activity of anti-metastasis,which can be used together with other natural medicine to exert synergistic effects on cancer.
