Urban modernization is a major component of Chinese path to modernization and an important engine for its realization.ZHANG Jian,who devoted himself to exploring urban modernization through regional governance,formed a unique view on urban governance that embodied comprehensive and systematic development,combination of traditions and characteristics,and harmonious coexistence of human and nature.This view agrees with the theory of Chinese path to modernization in multiple dimensions,offering enlightenment on the practice of Chinese urban modernization in the new era.
