Seismic safety analysis of the Guazhou pump station
The Guazhou pump station,a representative project awarded the Luban Prize, plays a crucial role in flood control and drainage in the urban area of Yangzhou. This pump station, classified as a Grade II project, employs a bored pile foundation design.Given the importance of the project,it is essential to conduct a seismic safety analysis to assess the impact of seismic loads on the pump station and to validate the design while providing feedback for engi-neering improvements. The three-dimensional finite element method(3D-FEM)is a significant numerical simulation technique for studying structural safety performance and has become a key tool for evaluating seismic performance. This study focuses on the Guazhou pump station, establishing a 3D finite element model and using the Code for Seis-mic Design of Hydraulic Structures as a basis. The modal dynamic response spectrum method was employed to simu-late seismic dynamic responses, with numerical simulations conducted using ABAQUS software.By analyzing the de-formation and stress of the pump station, the seismic safety of the Guazhou pump station was evaluated. The results provide valuable insights for the seismic safety analysis of similar projects.
