Extraction of Three Eremophilane Sesquiterpenes from Tibetan Herbal Medicine Comastoma pulmonarium and Their Antibacterial Activity
The chemical constituents of eremophilane sesquiterpenes in the Tibetan medicine Comastoma pul-monarium and their antibacterial activities were studied.Using chromatographic methods such as silica gel, gel, resin materials(MCI-GEL),and RP-HPLC,three eremophilane sesquiterpene compounds were extracted and isolated from the Comastoma pulmonarium-acetone(φ=70%)system.The structures were characterized by UV spectroscopy, infrared spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. The antibacterial activity of the isolated compounds was assessed using the broth microdilution method. The results showed that the three eremophilane sesquiterpene compounds were identified as(Z)-6-ethoxy-5-ethyli-dene-4,5,6,8-tetrahydro-1H,3H-pyrano[3,4-c]pyran-1-one(1),swerimilegenins H(2),and swerimile-genins I(3),with compound 1 being a new compound.Compounds 1 to 3 all exhibited certain antibacterial activities.
