Tumor Metabolism Reprogramming Provides Novel Targets for Glioblastoma Therapy
Glioma research has witnessed significant progress in recent decades, yet effective treatments for glio-blastoma remain elusive, leading to dismal prognoses for patients.Metabolic reprogramming stands out as a cru-cial hallmark of gliomas. With advancements in metabolic technologies, novel mechanisms of intracellular meta-bolic dysregulation, influenced by glioma gene mutations and metabolic microenvironmental control, are unveiled. These encompass alterations in glucose, lipid, and amino acid metabolism.Targeting metabolic path-ways regulated by genetic mutations has emerged as a promising avenue for selectively eradicating glioma cells.Several potential therapeutic agents are currently under investigation, demonstrating remarkable efficacy in in vivo models. This review provides a comprehensive overview of recent advances in understanding the mecha-nisms of metabolic abnormalities in gliomas and the advancements in targeted drug therapies for this challenging disease.
