Analysis of Water Resources Carrying Capacity of Urban Belt Along the Yellow River in Ningxia Based on Water Footprint Theory
Combining water footprint theory, this study analyzes and evaluates the water resource situation of the urban belt along the Yellow River in Ningxia from the perspectives of water resources,socio-economics,and ecology, and identifies key factors affecting the water carrying capacity of different cities. It also examines the internal differences in water resource carrying capacity among cities along the Yellow River in Ningxia from 2010 to 2019 and identifies through the coefficient of variation,to provide targeted suggestions for subsequent improvements in water resource carrying capacity. The results show that water resources are relatively scarce in all cities. However, the variation in socio-economic development, ecological protection measures, and other factors have different effects on the carrying capacity of water resources.During the study period, except for Zhongwei City, the water carrying capacity of Yinchuan,Shizuishan and Wuzhong all show a downward trend and then an upward trend.Zhongwei City shows a better recovery in water resource carrying capacity, while the other three cities are relatively inadequate.
