Study on the Collapse Deformation of Remolded Silty Clay under Dry-Wet Cycles and Its Influencing Factors
To investigate the wetting collapse deformation pattern of silty clay under dry-wet cycles, typical silty clay in Yinchuan was selected as the research subject to prepare samples with different degrees of saturation and compaction and to carry out the collapsibility test. The significance analysis method of multi-factor interaction was combined to analyze the collapse deformation rate under different influencing factors. It is shown that compaction and saturation degrees had different effects on the wetting collapse deformation rate. For medium-low saturation and high saturation soils, the effect of compaction on mitigating wetting collapse deformation was significantly different under dry-wet cycles, and the mitigation effect was related to the dry-wet cycle process. The significance analysis results of the three factors, namely the number of dry-wet cycles, compaction degree, and saturation, showed that all three factors had a strong significance, and their interactive effects had different degrees of significance on the wetting collapse deformation rate.To minimize the effects of compaction and saturation on the foundation deformation,it is suggested that the initial compaction degree should not be less than 95%,and the degree of saturation should not exceed that corresponding to the optimum moisture content.
