Achievements,Existing Problems and Countermeasures of Soil and Water Conservation in Pengyang County
Since its establishment in 1983,Pengyang County,Ningxia,has adhered to the policy of"ecological county"and made remarkable achievements in soil and water conservation.A total of 90 small watersheds of 1 879.9 km2 have been brought under control,and the forest coverage rate has increased from 3%to 34.31%,and the soil and water loss control degree has increased from 11.1%to 81.03%.The average soil erosion modulus has been decreased from 5 584.8 t·km-2·a-1 to less than 2 000 t·km-2·a-1.The achievements of soil and water conservation ecological environment construction in Pengyang County in the past 40 years are introduced,the work experience of soil and water conservation in Pengyang County is analyzed and summarized aiming to provide reference for soil and water conservation work in the future.
