Breeding and Comprehensive Performance of A New Spring Wheat Variety Ningchun 63
Ningchun No.63 is a new spring wheat variety,which is a hybrid of introduced spring wheat Ba 02-509 and Ningchun No.35 bred by the Crop Institute,Ningxia Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences.The offspring of the hybrid were by the breeding method with the haploid generated by crossing wheat and corn,and the young embryos were selected by tissue culture and chromosome doubling.Ningchun No.63 inherits the genetic traits of its parent Ningchun No.35 in botanical characteristics and some agronomic traits.Compared with Ningchun No.4,Ningchun No.63 has improved greatly in yield,yield composition,quality and disease resistance.It is a successful example of the combination of haploid breeding and biotechnology breeding.
