Analysis of the Current Situation and Influencing Factors of Electronic Products Use Among 3 500 Primary School Students
Objective To understand the current status of electronic product usage and its influencing factors among primary school students in a county in Northwest China.Methods Stratified random whole cluster sampling was used,3 500 primary school students were selected from January to April 2022 as respondents to a questionnaire survey by using Questionnaire Star.Results A total of 3 207 valid questionnaires were collected in this study(recovery rate 94.13%).The detection rate of cumulative excessive electronic device use varied across schools,grades,locations,uses,and parental attitudes towards electronic device use,and whether or not the students were enrolled in a sports programme(P all<0.05).Logistic regression analyses showed that attend-ing school in a rural area was a protective factor for cumulative excessive electronic device use among primary school students,and that higher grades and learning needs were risk factors for cumulative excessive electronic device use among primary school students(P all<0.05).Conclusion The situation of excessive cumulative daily electronic product usage among primary school students remains serious and required continued implementation of relevant preventive and control measures by schools,the community and families.
