Differential Expression and Clinical Significance of MYD88 in Pan-cancer Based on Bioinformatics
Objective To investigate the function of MYD88 in pan-cancer through bioinformatics methods and the role of MYD88 in the cancer. Methods The role of MYD88 in pan-cancer was investi-gated from various perspectives including gene expression level, prognosis analysis, immune infiltration through various biological databases and tools.Furthermore, cancer tissue samples from five types of cancers were col-lected to confirm the above bioinformatical results by using IHC.Results The expression level of MYD88 in the cervical squamous cell carcinoma, cervical adenocarcinoma, glioma, ovarian serous cystadenocarcinoma, glioblastoma multiforme, gastric adenocarcinoma, and invasive breast cancer was significantly higher than that in normal tissues(P<0.05),and increased MYD88 expression level was significantly correlated with patient prog-nosis,immune cell infiltration of some patients with cancer(P<0.05).Genes interacted and co-expressed with MYD88 were involved in various signaling pathways, including nuclear factor kappa-B(NF-κB)signaling pathway,toll-like receptor(TLR)signaling pathway,NOD-like receptor(NLR)signaling pathway and so on.Fur-thermore,the above genes were involved in a series of biological progresses, including innate immune response, inflammatory response, signal transduction, transcriptional regulation, and apoptosis and so on.Conclusion MYD88 was highly expressed in various cancer tissues and exhibits significant differences in TNM system of various cancers. There was a correlation between MYD88 and patient prognosis, and MYD88 was expected to become a new hiomarker for various cancers.
