The Effect of Extracorporeal Shock Wave Combined with Neuromuscular Training on Elderly Patients with Knee Osteoarthritis and Its Effects on Knee Synovial Fluid of IL-1β,IL-17 and PGE2 Levels
Objective To analyze the efficacy of extracorporeal shock wave combined with neuromuscular training in the treatment of elderly patients with knee osteoarthritis(KOA)and its effects on knee synovial fluid of interleukin(IL)-1β,IL-17,prostaglandin E2(PGE2)levels.Methods 130 elderly patients with KOA admitted to Rehabilitation Medicine Center, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Wannan Medical College from January 2021 to January 2022 were selected and randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, with 65 patients in each group by random number table method. The control group received neuromuscular training treatment, while the observation group received extracorporeal shock wave therapy plus neuromuscular training treatment.Efficacy,Lysholm knee joint score, pain visual analogue scale(VAS),6-minutewalkingdistance,kneejointsynovial fluid IL-1β,IL-17,PGE2 levels, activity of daily living(ADL)scale, quality of life(QOL)score, and complications were compared. Results The total effective rate of the observation group(86.15%)was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the Lysholm knee joint score and 6-minute walking distance increased in both groups, and the observation group were higher than the control group(P all<0.05).The VAS score decreased in both groups, and the observation group were lower than the control group(P all<0.05).After treatment, the levels of IL-1β,IL-17 and PGE2 of knee joint synovial fluid of both groups decreased, and the observation group were lower than the control group(P all<0.05).After treatment, the ADL score and QOL score of both groups increased, and the observation group were higher than the control group(P all<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of complications between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The combination of extracorporeal shock wave and neuromuscular training has a definite effect on the treatment of elderly patients with KOA,which can improve the therapeutic effect and reduce knee joint synovial fluid IL-1β,IL-17 and PGE2 levels, inhibit inflammatory reactions, improve knee joint function, reduce knee joint pain, improve daily activity and quality of life, and do not increase complications.
