Depression syndrome can be divided into broad and narrow.Generalized depression syndrome was first seen in the"five depressions"in the"Huangdi Neijing",which mainly refers to the qi and blood disharmony and zang-fu dysfunction caused by external sensation,internal injury,diet and other factors,which laid the foundation for the development of later generations.The stagnation of Qi caused by the injury of the seven emotions and the uncomfortable mood is a sign of depression in the narrow sense,which can be seen in the emotional diseases of the Eastern Han Dynasty in Zhang Zhongjing's Synopsis of Golden Chamber.In Jin and Yuan dynasties,"Six depressions"proposed in"Danxi Xin Fa·Six depressions"enriched the content of depression syndrome.Yu Tuan in Ming Dynasty first proposed the disease name"depression syndrome"in"Medical Biograp hy",and it has been used ever since.From the Qin and Han dynasties to modern times,the theory of depression syndrome has been passed on orderly and perfected,and gradually formed a systematic theoretical system.
