Clinical analysis on 4 cases of anti-leucine-rich glioma-inactivated 1 antibody encephalitis
Objective To investigate the clinical features of Leucine-rich Glioma Inactivated 1(LGI1)antibody encephali-tis.Methods The clinical data of 4 patients diagnosed with LGI1 encephalitis were retrospectively analyzed. Results The main clinical symptoms were cognitive impairment, seizures, faciobrachial dystonic seizures(FBDS),sleep disorder, mental abnormalities and hy-ponatremia.Auxiliary examination of cranial magnetic resonance abnormalities and EEG abnormalities.Cerebrospinal fluid and serum LGI1 antibodies were both positive in four cases, and only serum LGI1 antibodies were positive in one case with two recurrences. Two pa-tients received corticosteroids, and two received immunoglobulin therapy, and two patients with seizures received antiepileptic drugs at the same time. The clinical symptoms of three patients improved, and one case who delayed diagnosis and treatment had poor response to treatment and repeated relapses, leaving cognitive impairment and seizures. Conclusion The clinical manifestations of LGI1 encephalitis are mainly extrapyramidal symptoms, cranial MRI may have abnormal signals in the hippocampus and medial temporal lobe, early effective immunotherapy can prevent the progression of the disease in time, for patients with relapse,long-term maintenance immunotherapy or timely second-line therapy should be used.
