Significance of cox-2 and 12-LOX in the progression of cervical lesions
Objective To study the expression of cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2)and 12-lipid oxidase(12-LOX)in the progression of cervical lesions. Methods A retrospective analysis was performed on 200 patients with cervical biopsy by electronic col-poscopy.According to the pathological diagnosis results, they were divided into chronic cervicitis group(43 cases),cervical low-grade lesion group(LSIL),57 cases, cervical high-grade lesion group(HSIL),57 casesand cervical cancer tissue(46 cases).Immuno-histochemical staining was used to detect the expression of COX-2 and 12-LOX in cervical lesions and their clinical significance. Results After analysis, the percentage of patients with COX-2 and 12-LOX positive expression in cervical tissues in cervical cancer group and high-grade cervical disease group was higher than that in low-grade cervical disease group and chronic cervicitis group(P<0.05).The positive rates were chronic cervicitis,LSIL,HSIL and cervical cancer respectively from low to high, and showed a gradually increasing trend according to the progression of the disease. The percentage of patients with COX-2 and 12-LOX positive ex-pression in cervical cancer group was higher than that in HSIL group(P<0.05).ConclusionThe positive rate of COX-2 and 12-LOX expression in cervical tissues is related to the progression of cervical lesions, indicating that detection of COX-2 and 12-LOX in cervi-cal tissues has certain significance in diagnosis and prediction of cervical malignant lesions.
