Effect of spinal manipulation with mechanical impulse force on subjective pain, lumbar mobility and trunk muscle strength in patients with lumbar disc herniation
Objective To compare the effects of mechanical pulse force spinal correction and physical factor therapy on subjec-tive pain, lumbar range of motion and trunk muscle strength in patients with mechanical low back pain and lumbar disc herniation(LDH).Methods 118 patients with mechanical low back pain LDH were selected and the patients were divided into control group and observation group(n=59).And the control group was given physical factor therapy and the observation group was given mechanical im-pulse force chiropractic correction therapy. The clinical efficacy, pain level(VAS)scores, dysfunction(RDQ)scores, lumbar mobility and trunk muscle strength were compared between two groups. Results The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(93.22%vs.76.27%).After treatment, the VAS and RDQ scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group(P<0.05),and the ranges of flexion, extension, left and right flexion were greater than those of the control group(P<0.05),and the flexor, extensor and rotational muscle strength of the observation group were better than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Compared with physical factor therapy, spinal mechanical impulsive manipulation is more effec-tive in the treatment of mechanical low back pain LDH,and mechanical impulse force chiropractic is more effective in relieving pain,im-proving dysfunction, and increasing lumbar mobility and trunk muscle strength.
