Clinical efficacy of tabbed button plates versus conventional screw fixation in the treatment of Lisfranc ligament injuries
Objective To analyze a comparative analysis of the clinical efficacy of suture button plates fixation versus traditional screw fixation in the treatment of Lisfranc ligament injuries. Methods A retrospective analysis of clinical data from 46 patients who involved Lisfranc ligament injuries was performed.including 23 patients in the observation group, all of whom were treated with tabbed button plate fixa-tion,and 23 patients in the control group, all of whom were treated with conventional screw fixation.Comparative analysis was performed in terms of general data, perioperative parameters,Lisfranc joint spacing, pain, midfoot function, the excellent rate of AOFAS score at one year postopera-tively,and the incidence of postoperative complications to provide a comprehensive evaluation of their clinical efficacy. Results There was no statistically significant differences between the two groups in terms of age, gender,BMI,time from injury to surgery, and intraoperative blood loss(P>0.05).In the group with tabbed button plate, there was less pain at 6 months and one year postoperatively(P<0.05).At the one-year postoperatively, the suture button plate group exhibited superior outcomes with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).There were two cases of postoperative complications in the tabbed button plate group(including one case of superficial incision infection and one case of deep peroneal nerve injury),and 9 cases of postoperative complications in the screw group(one case of superficial incision infection, two cases of screw breakage, three cases of Lisfranc joint re-dislocation,and three cases of traumatic arthritis),with statistically significant differences be-tween the two groups(P<0.05).Conclusion Plates with tabbed buttons are securely fixed, with better functional recovery of the affected foot and fewer complications after surgery.
