Analysis of epidemic characteristics and economic burden of unintentional injuries in preschool children
Objective To explore the epidemic characteristics of 1156 emergency inpatients with accidental injury of preschool children in Yinchuan City,and to provide reference for the formulation of accidental injury prevention measures.Methods In this study,a questionnaire survey was used to collect data on gender,age,injury type,injury outcome,hospitalization cost,and medical insurance type of preschool children.Results There were 702 males(60.73%)and 454 females(39.27%)among 1156 emergency inpatients of preschoolers,which were significantly more males than females.The age group of emergency inpatients of preschool children was mainly from 1 to 2 years old,accounting for 24.57%.Burn and scald were the most common type of accidental injury in preschool children(27.08%).The type of accidental injury was burn and scald patients with the most total hospital expenses(P<0.05).Traffic injury and fall injury were the main causes of death in preschool children,the highest cure rate was fall injury and the highest non-cure rate was burn and scald.Conclusion Emergency inpatients with accidental injuries of preschool children in Yinchuan are related to gender,age and injury type,and injury outcome.The total cost are related to the accidental injury type.Therefore,targeted intervention should be carried out according to the characteristics of the population to prevent the occurrence of injuries.
