The application of IMB model combined with continuous oral health education in the oral management of pregnant women
Objective To analyze the application value of information-motivation—behavioral skills(IMB)model combined with continuous oral health education in the oral management of pregnant women. Methods Selected 440 cases of pregnant women,of which 40 cases were lost, and 400 cases were finally enrolled, which were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group(n=200).The control group received traditional oral health education, and the observation group carried out IMB model combined with continuous oral health education. Before intervention and at the 3rd month and 6th month after intervention, and the two groups of pregnant women were given periodontal examination plaque index(PLI),gingival bleeding index(GBI),periodontal pocket depth(PD),calculus index-simplified(CI-S),debris index-simplified(DI-S)and caries susceptibility test(Cariostat value),and the oral health care knowledge cognition and oral behavior change were investigated and evaluated in the two groups. Results There were statistical differences in PLI,GBI,PD,CI-S and DI-S scores between groups, time and interaction(P<0.05),no differences in PLI,GBI,PD,CI-S and DI-S scores between the two groups before intervention(P>0.05).The scores of PLI,GBI,PD,CI-S and DI-S in the observation group were lower than those in the control group after 3 months and 6 months of intervention(P<0.05).The differ-ences in Cariostat values between groups, time and interaction were statistically significant(P<0.05),there was no difference in Cari-ostat values between the two groups before the intervention(P>0.05),and the Cariostat values of the observation group were lower than those of the control group 3 months after the intervention and 6 months after the intervention(P<0.05).There was no significant differ-ence between the two groups in oral health care knowledge cognition before intervention(P>0.05),and the number of higher cognitive self-efficacy in the observation group 3 months after intervention and 6 months after intervention was more than the number of lower and average(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in oral behavior change between the two groups before the intervention(P>0.05),and the number of people with better health behaviors in the observation group was higher than the number of people with average and poor health behaviors 3 months after the intervention and 6 months after the intervention(P<0.05).Conclusion IMB model com-bined with continuous oral health education has a high application value in the oral management of pregnant women, and it is beneficial to improving the oral status of pregnant women, enhancing the pregnant women's cognition of oral health care knowledge, and promoting the good oral behavior habits.
