Objective To analyze disease cognition level and its influencing factors in patients with ureteral calculi after extracor-poreal shockwave lithotripsy. Methods A total of 230 patients with ureteral calculi which were undergone extracorporeal shockwave litho-tripsy were enrolled as the research objects. The general data and disease cognition level of patients were investigated. The influencing fac-tors of disease cognition level were analyzed by logistics regression analysis. Results In the 230 patients, average score of disease cogni-tion level was(65.49±18.68)points.The main way for patients to acquire disease-related knowledge were Internet and TV,and most patients hoped to acquire disease-related knowledge through nurses'education. There were differences in disease cognition level among patients with different age, educational levels, course of disease, occupations, average monthly family income and medical payment modes(P<0.05).The results of logistics regression analysis showed that older age(OR=3.219)and disease duration>3 years(OR=3.959)were influencing factors for the disease cognition level of ureteral calculi patients to be partially understood or not understood.College edu-cation or above(OR=0.154),occupation as mental worker(OR=0.260),and average monthly family income>4 000 yuan(OR=0.211)were all protective factors for the disease cognition level of patients with ureteral calculi(P<0.05).Conclusion Most patients undergoing extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy for ureteral calculi have yet to improve their level of disease awareness, and future inter-ventions need to strengthen disease awareness education for patients of advanced age and long disease duration.
