Effect of microscopic ligation of spermatic vein combined with electrophysiology in the treatment of asthenospermia caused by varicocele
Objective To observe the effect of microscopic ligation of spermatic vein combined with electrophysiology in the treatment of asthenospermia caused by varicocele. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 57 patients with oligozoospermia caused by varicocele. They were divided into an observation group(n=29)and a control group(n=28).The pa-tients in the control group received the treatment of microscopic varicocelectomy, and the patients in the observation group was treated with microscopic ligation of spermatic vein combined with electrophysiology. The clinical efficacy, semen quality, reproductive hormones, the levels of malondialdehyde(MDA)and superoxide dismutase(SOD)in seminal plasma and the spouse pregnancy rate were compared in the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the observation group(89.66%)was higher than that in the control group(67.86%,P<0.05).After treatment, the a-grade sperm, sperm motility, sperm density and a+b-grade sperm in the two groups in-creased(P<0.05).Follicle stimulating hormone(FSH)and luteinizing hormone(LH)decreased in the two groups(P<0.05).Inhib-in B and total testosterone(TT)in the two groups increased(P<0.05).The serum level of SOD in the two groups increased(P<0.05).The levels of MDA decreased in both groups(P<0.05).Conclusion The microscopic ligation of spermatic vein combined with electrophysiology has significant therapeutic effects on the asthenospermia caused by varicocele, which can improve semen quality,regu-late reproductive hormones, reduce oxidative stress damage of sperm, and increase the pregnancy rate of spouses.
