Effect of preserving part of the anterior orbicularis veins in total incision double blepharoplasty on postoperative complications and recovery quality
Objective To explore the effect of preserving part of the anterior orbicularis vein in total incision blepharoplasty on postoperative complications and recovery. Methods 30 patients with ptosis or entropion with bilateral eyelid incision were selected and divided into a study group and a control group, with 15 cases in each group, according to the randomized numerical table method. The study group underwent partial preservation of the orbicularis oculi anterior vein with total incision double blepharoplasty, and the control group underwent conventional total incision double blepharoplasty without preservation of the anterior orbicularis oculi vein. The related indicators, postoperative scarring, eyelid angle, medial canthal spacing before and after surgery and complications were compared. Results The postoperative hospital stay in the study group was shorter than that in the control group(P<0.05).The vancouver scar scale(VSS)score and the observer scar evaluation scale(POSAS)scores in the study group were lower than those in the control group at 1 month and 2 months after surgery(P<0.05).Two months after the operation,VSS score and POSAS score of two groups were lower than one month after surgery(P<0.05).Two months after surgery, eyelid angle and inner canthus distance in the two groups were lower than those before surgery(P<0.05).Conclusion The preserving part of the anterior orbicularis veins in total incision double blephar-oplasty can shorten the postoperative hospital stay, reduce the scar area and promote postoperative recovery, and it is safe and reliable.
