Laboratory Activity and Field Efficacy of Sulfoxaflor against Aphis citricola
[Aims] The study aims to evaluate the laboratory activity and field efficacy ofsulfoxaflor 50% WG againstAphis citricola by labtoratory bioassays and field efficacy trials, and to compare its field efficacy with spirotetramat, imidacloprid and three botanical insecticides, providing the basis for reasonable control ofA.citricola.[Methods] Laboratory bioassays were conducted by using continuous immersion method and leaf dipping method, and field efficacy was measured by using foliar spraying method.[Results] Sulfoxaflor showed a relatively high activity against A.citricola, with LC50 and LC95 values of 20.68 and 390.56 mg/L respectively. At 3 DAT (days after treatment) and 7-15 DAT,the control effects of sulfoxaflor 50% WG 50.0-62.5 mg a.i./L for Aphis citricola were 81.05-92.25% and 92.39-99.65% respectively, showing a quick and long-last persistance effect.Compared to spirotetramat, sulfoxaflor showed a better rapidly availability, the same long persistence effect and controlling effect. But compared to imidacloprid, sulfoxaflor showed better long persistence effect, controlling effect and the same rapidly availability.Three botanical insecticides——selinum extract, derris extract, pyrethrin——have relatively bad control effects againstA.citricoa.[Conclusions] Comprehensively compared control effects of all tested insecticides, suifoxaflor 50% WG showed the best control efficacy ofA.citricola.The long persistence effect of sulfoxaflor 50% WG could last more than 15 days at the recommended dosage of 50.0-62.5 mg a.i./L during the occurrence period of Aphis citricola.
