Residue and dissipation dynamics of saflufenacil in sorghum
[Aims]A QuEChERS method combined with HPLC-MS/MS was developed for the determination of saflufenacil residues in sorghum.[Methods]Sorghum plants and grains were extracted with acetonitrile and water, and soil was extracted with acetonitrile and 0.2%formic acid water. The extracts were purified by PSA,C18,GCB and anhydrous MgSO4,determined by HPLC-MS/MS,and quantified by external standard method.[Results]In the range of 0.001-0.5 mg/L,the mass concentration of saflufenacil had a good linear relationship with its response value. At the spiked levels of 0.01,0.1 and 0.5 mg/kg,the average recoveries of saflufenacil in sorghum plant, soil and grain ranged from 85.6%-101.7%with relative standard deviations(RSDs)of 1.48%-6.28%,and the limit of quantitation(LOQ)was 0.01 mg/kg.The results showed that the dissipation dynamics of saflufenacil in the soil of Inner Mongolia and Jilin were in accordance with the first-order reaction kinetic equation and the half-lives were 3.5 and 3.7 d,respectively. The final residues of saflufenacil in sorghum plant, soil and grain matrix were lower than the limit of quantitation.[Conclusions]It is safe to apply saflufenacil 70%water dispersible granules at the recommended dose during the harvest period. This study can provide a reference for the safe use of saflufenacil and the formulation of maximum residue limit(MRL).
