Combined toxicity and field control efficacy of emamectin benzoate mixed with tetraniliprole against Spodoptera frugiperda
[Aims]In order to screen out the combinations of insecticides with rapid and persistent effect against Spodoptera frugiperda.[Methods]The toxicity of emamectin benzoate and tetraniliprole to 3rd instar larvae of S.frugiperda was investigated, and the combined toxicity of emamectin benzoate and tetraniliprole was evaluated by co-toxicity factor and co-toxicity coefficient, meanwhile, field control effect of selected agent was also conducted.[Results]The result showed that the(72 h)LC50 values of emamectin benzoate and tetraniliprole against 3rd instar larvae of S.frugiperda were 0.088 and 4.380 mg/L,respectively.The combinations of 1∶50 and 1∶25 with synergistic effect were screened by co-toxicity factor method. The combinations with synergistic effect were 1∶30,1∶40,1∶50 and 1∶60 by co-toxicity coefficient method, and their LC50 were 0.936,0.742,1.086 and 1.915 mg/L,respectively.The results of field trials showed that the mixture of emamectin benzoate and tetraniliprole at the ratio of 1:40 had good control effect on S.frugiperda on day 3 and 14.[Conclusions]In summary, the combination of emamectin benzoate and tetraniliprole has good rapid and persistence effects on the control of S.frugiperda.
