Prevention and control of rice sheath blight with ningnanmycin
[Aims]Rice(Oryza sativa L.)sheath blight is one of the major diseases of rice, seriously harming rice yield.Ningnanmycin can effectively prevent and control a variety of crop diseases.[Methods]This study measured the physiological and biochemical indicators on rice infected with Rhizoctonia solani after spraying ningnanmycin;the expression of disease course-related protein-related genes PR1-α,PR-3 and PR-5 was analyzed by qRT-PCR.[Results]Compared with the Rhizoctonia solani group, the contents of chlorophyll a,chlorophyll b,total carotenoid and the activities of β-1,3-glucanase,endochitinase and PPO in rice leaves of the ningnanmycin+R.solani group were significantly higher on day 4 to 7;the content of MDA,O2-,and H2O2 significantly decreased from day 3 to day 7;the activities of PAL,SOD,POD,and CAT significantly increased from day 3 to day 7;the relative expression of OsPR1-α,OsPR-3 and OsPR-5 in rice leaves of the ningnanmycin+R.solani group were significantly higher than those of the R.solani group from day 3 to day 7.[Conclusions]Ningnanmycin can effectively control rice sheath blight caused by R.solani by inducing the production of disease-related proteins and protective enzymes to enhance plant host resistance.
